| Oak, like any timber is a living and breathing material which adapts to its environment and atmospheric changes. To further increase the stability of the solid tops on extending tables, we router out several channels underneath the top going across the grain. We then screw angled iron bars into these channels. This allows us to make the extension leaves of our CT505, CT511 and CT571 Dining tables with the grain of the extension leaves matching exactly with the grain of the main top. This we feel is a very important feature and sets us apart from all other manufacturers of this type of solid Oak furniture. |
